Spaghetti Lunch
Please support the youth and join us for a fellowship luncheon after late service on Sunday, March 4th. In addition to the spaghetti-salad-bread-and-dessert-lunch, there will also be a number of silent auction to bid on. Funds from this lunch will help defer the costs of this summer’s trip to Glorybound. (Tickets go on sale Sunday, February 26.)
Lenten Mid-Week Worship
The theme for this year’s mid-week Lenten services will be “Things The Lord Hates” based upon Proverbs 6:16-19. The wise king tells us in this text that: “There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.” Each week we will unpack one of these things that is the antithesis of God and His nature. Services each Wednesday will again be held at 12 noon and 7 pm. Join in the fellowship during a soup and salad lunch following the noon services. Ash Wednesday’s soup will be Chicken Noodle. We hope that you will plan to include this worship opportunity in your spiritual preparation for the events of Holy Week.
Wheelchair Ramp Build
Our next wheelchair ramp build will be on Saturday morning, February 25th from 8 am – 12 noon. Volunteers must be 14 or older. Join our crew to partner with Texas Ramp Project to build freedom for the homebound, to change a person’s life in a single day. Please contact Jordan for details and to sign up.
Young Adults Meal
Join us on Sunday, February 26th after late worship at 12 noon in the Fellowship Hall for our monthly fellowship. We’ll enjoy another home-cooked meal. This is a great opportunity for 20-somethings (singles and married) to gather around food and fun and hang out with friends and meet new people. Contact Pastor John or Jordan to RSVP.
Visual Arts Camp
Visual Arts Camp is Tuesday-Friday, July 10-13 from 9:00 am – 12 noon at the Christ Lutheran Church Workshop (212 E. Monroe St., Austin, 78704). Our 2012 program is for children just finishing 2nd-5th grade. They will create major art pieces using 2D and 3D media, make artsy snacks and fun crafts, and have playground time. February Mission: Sack Lunch Ministry
Our ministry that hands out sack lunches on Fridays is in need of several supplies once again. Please consider donating non-perishable, sack lunch items (such as Vienna sausages, tuna & crackers, individual size peanut butter cups, fruit cups, jell-o, pudding, chips, granola bars, and bottled water) to hand out to the hungry souls that come to our door on Friday mornings. We handed out 22 lunches on Friday, February 10, 2012!
