Visual Arts Camp
Visual Arts Camp is Tuesday-Friday, July 10-13 from 9:00 am – 12 noon at the Christ Lutheran Church Workshop (212 E. Monroe St., Austin, 78704). Our 2012 program is for children just finishing 2nd-5th grade. They will create major art pieces using 2D and 3D media, make artsy snacks and fun crafts, and have playground time. May Mission: Bastrop Fire Relief
On Saturday, May 19th, we have a chance to bless Tim Ristow and his family by helping them out on their family property in Bastrop to cut and haul dead pine trees, branches and debris. As you know, wildfires in September 2011 destroyed their home and everything in it. Tomorrow, we can help one of our own by pitching in to clean up their property. The workday at the Ristow’s property is from 8 am – 2 pm. Please contact Jordan for more information and if you are interested in serving.
Confirmation – Sunday, May 20
This year’s confirmands will be confirmed in late service Sunday, May 20th. This service will also feature Holy Communion. Please plan to attend this event to support these young people as they make their public profession of faith.
Vacation Bible School
This summer during Vacation Bible School, we’ll read Bible stories that relate to the Lord’s Prayer, pray to God as Jesus taught us, and serve others through mission off erings and projects. For the third consecutive summer, VBS will be held on Sunday mornings during Kingdom Quest. h e songs we sing at opening and closing and the stations we spend time at on our Amazing Desert Journey will remind us of God’s gracious gift of salvation and get us ready for the return of His Son, Jesus. VBS stations of cinema, crafts, drama, games, missions, and snacks will help children age 3 – Grade 5 to know, love, and follow Jesus. The stations will be led by adult volunteers, and the youth Bible studies will lend a hand as a faith and leadership building opportunity. Please talk with Jordan if you have questions.
